56 throttle pedal?

What is the problem with yours? Missing?
Mine was a terrible mess but I was able to fix it nicely.

why repair it aftermarket are available if your set on a repair fond a little hinge if the bottom mount is broken this will give you a pivot point

I repaired my pivot point (the pedal was broke at that spot and wondering around) with a leather strap which I riveted through the metal plate located beneath the pedal's plastic coat. Since my car is always on a budget, I keep my funds to more serious things, meaning I try to preserve and repair everything I can.
Not top work, but works properly.

I put an FE 390 in the car and dont have clearance for the original linkage. Was wondering what some have used and their opinions on how it is. Brand and model would be great info to. I have looked at the lokar models but havent seen used in a 55-56 ford.

I used a firewall mount lokarshift on my 55 bird, with a cable.Made an aluminum spacer from bar stock (could have used a piece of oak) to space the pedal out from the firewall. Works perfect, been there 10 years. If I ever get the floors repaired, I could go back to the floor mount. Some race classes don't allow cables, as I recall.

I use a Lokar like MIKER mentions ALSO on a 55 Bird. I was reluctant to use it at first but I am happy with it after many years of use. One minor point is it seems short AND I don't have big feet! I have thought about adding a some sort of aluminum extension up the back of the pedal. But I may never get around to it. It gets the job done. I bought the Black anodized version.
