56 Tbird Fordomatic trans oil check

Can anyone supply me with the process for checking the oil level in this trans? 312 engine.
Is it checked in Park or in Neutral? Engine running? At operating temp?

Check it warm, having been driven, then out it in park and check level with the engine running.

Thanks, rick55. That's what I'll do. Strange but my 56 Ford owners manual says nothing at all about the Fordomatic. It's very detailed on everything else. Oh, weel, I can always count on the Fordbarn and people like you.
