56 steering box in a 33 Ford

Flathead Ted: Good for you, a much needed product. A few pictures of the 56 F100 steering box installation in a 32 using the wedge method. After installing
a few of these I have yet to find a frame that the wedge fits without a lot of machining. I find it best to modify the 56 box output shaft to use the model A pitman arm. It is not as heavy and looks better. Machining the wedge to fit also gets the box closer to the frame and gets you clearance at the exhaust manifold.

Its a completely new manufacture so no cores needed .The only thing is that you have to do is press on you steering shaft onto our new worm . we may be able to supply the shafts as well but the shipping would be up there .Still working on pricing but I would say $7/800 USD Ted

Hey Ted, any progress on these boxes?

Thanks,

Neal

Here's two boxes with F1,a 32 LH and a RH 34 box we did for a Model A with a shortened sector housing to clear the headers ,no welding involved , Ted

Are you aware of a source to obtain a pitman arm that would fit a standard 1941 Ford but with the spline count on one end that would match up to a Mustang Steering box? My 41 box was toast so we were considering this Mustang manual box but the spline count is different and the Mustang pitman is different than the original 41 Ford one.

You possibly can an cut the centre out of your 40 box pit and machine out the mustang arm and weld them in ,so its a plug ,scarfed out both sides and a competent welder . tig or mig , Ted
