Does anyone know the paint code for the extension piece that goes from the radiator to the front bumper? Both of the ones I have are a silver color so I assume that is standard for all colors of cars - car is 56 sunliner diamond blue.

Ford Argent Silver - it was a standard/utility color that was used through the '50s through the '70s and beyond. Ford's original M-# (I think) was M-25, meaning it was first used during '49 or so production. At some point the number changed. Others can expound on more details or product numbers from paint manufacturers.

Yes it is called Argent. I don't know the code for it though. It is what the stone shield is painted on my '56 Fairlane as well.

I was called Argent silver. Most vintage Ford parts supplies have it in spray cans. It was used on gravel deflectors, and air cleaners. It was a low-gloss paint. Any bodyshop with a mixing machine could mix it. It was used for MANY years. Using a spray can would be at best, a last resort, you know how spray cans can be. A very close match would be the Ford 1G color used on cars and trucks thru the 70s. Just make sure if you use that to add flattening additive to achieve the low gloss effect.

I know that you asked for the Paint Code for the panel behind the bumper, but I thought that this Paint Colour Chart might interest readers.

The Ford 1G is very close and worked out well, I added a little flattening agent to it to get a low gloss.
Thanks everyone for the help.

I always laugh when I read/ hear "Argent silver". I didn't realize so many Americans spoke French or was it a way of making plain old silver sound more elegant? LOL
