56-Ford Instrument Voltage Regulator Part Number

Hello,

I am needing the FORD part number for the 56 instrument voltage regulator...

If someone would be so kind as to look it up in their parts book, I would greatly appreciate the help...

Going to use it in my 54 Sunliner 6 to 12V conversion and want to get one that is meant to be there. Don't want to use the Runtz voltage droppers because I understand they allow full 12V to gauge if they fail...

Please help me with the part number or send me comments on what to use if something better is out there...

Thanks for your help...

I don't think 56 has one. Now 57 does, I don't have the part no, but it is a pricy thing. I don't think it's what you need though.

Dennis Carpenter sells three different styles of voltage regulator for what you need. I also remember seeing a post on the Hamb site where one of the members makes his own using solid state components for under $2.
Hope this helps.
Regards
Rick

56 did not use an instrument voltage regulator. This was the only year (besides current times) that ford used 12 volt gauges. Ford reverted back to six volt gauges in 57 and used the regulator up until the 80's I believe. You can use a 57 and later regulator, it really does not make a difference as far as I know. I used one (not sure of year) in my 54.
