'56 Fairlane horn wire question

Hey Guys! My car had no horns or wire in the column shaft on it when purchased by me. I purchased some aftermarket horns from O'Reilly, & I also managed to get a new horn button wire down through the shaft & out the bottom of the box. Where does this wire attach to? There is no factory wiring left under the hood for horns, I might add. A simple wiring diagram for aftermarket horns would be great. Thanks in advance! F F

Check your firewall next to the starter solenoid for the horn relay. It a little box with two ear screwing to the side. And a three prong plug. . On of them wire goes back to the horn wire at the gearbox. Thewire might be there cruising across firewall and down to gearbox. More than likely it's hot too. So the action of the grounding it is what send the message to the horn to make sound. It closes the circuit.
I'm sure someone will correct me.

I noticed all the other cars on your roster. At least two of them should have a very similar if not exact same wire setup to the horn. Take a look.

Successful day. I got my horns working, loud & clear! The only part related to a horn on my car was the ring on the steering wheel. The rest had to be done from scratch. This probably would have been an easy job/fix for a lot of you I'm sure. However, electrical problems have never been a strong point of mine, but I can usually my way through them. Just takes me a lot, lot longer. Thanks guys, & I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving! F F
