55 town sedan belt molding clips

Seeing the other post about clips reminded me of my difficulty finding belt molding clips that hold chrome along bottom of the windows on the doors. I don't see them listed on any of the catalogs that make parts for 55 Fords.

FORD did not show attaching parts in their MLDG ILL SECTION until the 1957 MODEL RUN or the earlier ILL's were dropped for the 1949-1959 FORD CAR MPC FINAL EDITION - 1964 (one needs earlier period parts listings).

On the FORD ILL, go to the MLDG ILL PN in the TEXT SECTION and the hardware should be shown there.

I contacted Tee-bird, they do not have them. No one does from the new side. Looking for ones that came off of a parts car or something like that. That seems to be the only option at this point.

AUVECO must have a cross-over chart whereas they can cross FORD to their system

Thanks for the response. Checked Auveco , nothing there either. If someone has a parts car with these moldings still on and the clips are still good, let me know.

I was looking at the link evintho posted through dennis carpenter, the clip is different but I think if I modified it a little it might work if the moldings are as wide as each other. Evintho do happen to know how wide your moldings are?

The 3rd PN is for the rear door and I did not find it.

There was a supplier that had a chart that crossed FORD PN to supplier and I cannot remember who.

I would call AUVECO and speak with them as your fastener are cataloged under a FORD P&A PN rather than a STANDARD HARDWARE PN.

I had the chart all the time and misfiled it.

But just like PREGO, it is in there somewhere ...

Yes sir, the mouldings are about 1-1/16" wide. Keep in mind, there's a small lip, top and bottom on the backside where they slide over the raised portion of the clilp. I have one extra clip from when I ordered a bunch. The clip measures 7/8" square.
