55 Mercury build

Hello all, im currently fixing up a '55 Mercury. Ive been posting on the HAMB for years now, just now getting around to joining Ford Barn.


help! im looking for replacement springs for the hood hinges on my '55. The only place i can find them are on MACs and they are 'temporarily unavailable' i called and they said they are 'looking' for a new supplier, so no faith they will become available in the near future, if ever. Anyone have any idea where i can find a set? or other make/model/year that use the same springs?

JFYI-

The 55 MERC is the same as the 55/56 FORD if you come across a take-off set.

Yeah thanks i am aware. From what i can find those are the only 2 years with those springs, ive checked lincolns/fords/olds/buick etc none look the same.


Also wondering if theres a set of hinges/springs ffrom a different car that are a bolt on match that i can purchase...just swap it all out. If anyone is aware of a compatible set id love to here about it
