This is a further discussion I posted about an alternator..
I'm looking at a Power Master 6v positive ground generator. One wire connection. What happens to the wiring that goes to the regulator??
Does the one wire connection go directly to the battery?? Or??
#6 Copper wire????

Any one wire set up could go to the same post as the main power source. This may vary some on different years but many vehicles had the starter relay close to the battery. The charge wire could connect there with the yellow wires. Yellow was always main power. This way. it will go through the amp meter loop to the buss. The BAT terminal on the regulator should go to the power connection on the buss but may be an acceptable place to connect since most of the main power circuits all end up there. The buss is always near the circuit breakers and general fuse panel under the dash.

The other wires on the regulator were ground, field, and armature connections for the old generator. The grounds may still be important but the field and armature is a different story. They are only there to control the regulated output. The alternator should have it's own control and protection built in.
