54 223 to 53 flat?

I have 54 F100 with a 223. Will the 53 flat V8 bolt up using the factory gear the 223 utilizes? (crossmember, mounts?) Thanx
 
I don't know if the front saddle mount the 53 flathead used is the same or not. The 53 used a bellhousing with cast-in ears. The more I type, the less help I am, so I'll quit.
 
223's have a different bellhousing pattern. If you can find a '53 V8 BH and front mounts everything else "should" work out.
 
hey guys, thanx for the feedback. i'd like to keep the 3 on the tree. however, any suggestions on relieving the "strain". You know, the sound that tells you it sure would be nice to drop to that next gear! suggestions different rearend, rearend gears, trans?
 
I had a bellhousing and front saddle a few years ago, but sold them. If you have the 53 engine, do some measuring 'tween that and the saddle on your 223. Do you have a parts manual?
