53 V8 mated to 39 transmission

Trying to mate a 53 V8 to a 39 top shift transmission so I can keep the original rear and tube.

Is it correct that a bell housing from a 49-53 light truck will work? Any other type of adapters available?

How much of the 53 do you have ? Flywheel ? Lower starter plate ? Pan ? etc? 36fordguy

You need the cast iron 3" 1/2 bell from a '48-'52 truck, or the stamped steel version from a '49-'50 Mercury, and their starter plates.

On epay this is for a v8 lot of 6 cyclnder out there.
If you have the plate it will be good for your oil pan.
This is one on epay 142637036733 If you have a true 39 trans it will have a 3" fork.
If not you need truck trans 49 -52 floor shift and may need 46-48 side shift gears and shaft.
