53 Monterey gear shift starting position

The car is designed to start in neutral. Has anyone modified one to allow it to start in park as well? Thanks.

Disconnecting the neutral start switch at the bottom of the steering column will allow the engine to start in any shifter position. Probably not the answer you are looking for though.

I believe Mart (Mart's Garage on YouTube) modified his '57 Thunderbird to start in park. Look at his YouTube postings from a year or so ago on the Thunderbird.
