53 mercury overdrive problem solved! See pic

So I took the transmission to the local flat head expert (now a few months away from 90) - please see link to local paper info - he called me today and said come down and look at what he found.
In a nutshell there is a spring which provides pressure on the rail to push it back into position when the overdrive is released (thats what I understood anyway - I may have gotten the information wrong) however it was pretty plain to see that the spring was scrunched up at one end and is curved - it jammed on the rail and made it stop moving. Norm was actually only able to get the transmission apart by using a drift and giving the shaft a good whack from the outside to free it up.
So now I am looking for this spring (as shown in pic) there were two on the rail, a wider diameter one with less coils and less pressure and this one. I would like to get a new one rather than re-use the old one - any help with that would be great.
