Shocks Out
Compress spring and remove.
I am not a restoration purest so I typically have the rivets knocked out of the bottom A-arm. So what I do there is use a jack to bare the force of the spring and remove the bolts I have installed in place of the rivets.
and use a chain down through the spring to catch that bad boy should something slip or break. There is a butt load of energy in those things and they could really mess up your day!
I think once I retire, I'm going to sit in a nice comfy lawn chair, crack open a beer and watch people change coil springs in their driveway. From a safe distance of course. And most of my comments will be constructive.
