I am considering removing the electric (gearotor) fuel pump I am using now and installing the original-style pump back on the motor. Because of the hose and line arrangement I have at the tank for the electric pump the line coming out of the tank exits toward the passenger side and the hose loops up to the pump, just above the tank connection.
It's been almost (10) years since I had the diaphragm pump on and don't recall the original fuel line configuration at the tank and rear. I would like to keep the set-up the way it is and install a longer hose in the loop (with the filter) to take up the length left vacant by the removal of the electric pump.
Will the extra length of fuel hose and hard line affect the operation of the stock pump, other than take longer to start from pulling the gas that much further? I realize this probably is a common sense question, but after a couple of reason "incidents" with the electric pump I've had enough and I want to make sure I get it right.
Thank you.
Rick
