53 F100 motor mounts

Keep the flathead.:)53s with flatheads are are getting scarce,the truck is worth a lot more with the flathead , it took me along time to fine a 53 original with a flathead,
 
Just starting on the rebuild of my 53 Merc 1/2 ton and plan to keep it flathead with an s-10 five speed to make it more Hy-way friendly.
 
I did just the opposite .The inline 6 has the motor mount in the front .You can fabricate a steel plate and bolt it to the orginal 6 mount and make sure it it is long enough to fit on the frame just below radiator .The hole in the frame should already be there ,just drill your new hole
accordingly.

Be sure to not scrap your 53 V8 bell housing. They just made them that one year. There is always someone needing one. Flathead Ernie, a valuable contributor to the Hamb, associated with this site, and a contributor here on this site needs one. I have one but he lives in Florida and don't want to ship something that big. If you live close to Florida you might want to contact him if you want to sell it/
