53-56 truck hood hinge differences

Hey guys, I recently bought an old 53 F-100. No hood hinges. Found a nice set on Craigslist and once home noticed my shoulder bolts I have were too small. I thought all hinges 53-56 were the same. Now I realize they are not. Guys on the ford truck enthusiast site say they will fit and some do not. I understand the correct shoulder bolt needs to match the hinge but will the 56 hinges work on my 53? Some say all it will do is make the hood open differently but others say no, without giving real world experience. Has anybody here and know the answer? Thanks.

Differant ----1953-55 has 7/16" holes and the center hole on cowl bracket to long end 5 1/2"

1956 has 5/8" holes and center to long end 6 1/4"

Call Mid Fifty 800 252- 1956 and get a Catalog good products and info

According to mid 50 the later 56 hinges will still work on 53-55 cabs. This is why I am stumped. I was told the hood is going to open diffetently than 53-55 hoods but it will work. Guess I should just buy the correct 56 shoulder bolts and see what happens.
