My 52 Merc had that same label in the trunk lid with some minimal instructions to change a tire. Part of mine is missing but I don't think it listed the location of the jack and wheel wrench. Spare tire is a no brainer with that well in the floor. And there is a link to the floor on the right side that bolts through the spare to hold it tight. Not sure but the base of the jack might have been set in the wheel centre with the hold down bolt through it. If memory serves there might have been a clip on the floor beside the spare to hold the jack and wheel wrench down. Some of my trunk floor in the 52 is missing but I'll have a look at the 53 parts car. Maybe a picture would help. I have this link to the 53 Ford manual but don't see any help in there as to the trunk layout.Doesn't the spare sit in a well in the trunk? There should be a plate that fits inside the hub hole and a rod that attaches to a bracket on the trunk floor and goes through the plate with a wing nut to hold it in. That is the way my 54 Ford is.
Fords did have instructions for tire stowage of the spare that was glued to the inside of the trunk lid.
The spare tire "pinches" the jack between the tire and the inner fender well.so the jack and jack stand goes in the floor hook and then just lays on the floor with nothing else holding it down?
