52 F1 with "bed rails"?

Hi gents...
I have a very nice unmolested 52 F1. It is the nicest unrestored car / truck that I personally ever saw (outside of a museum). I'm in the process of replacing bushings, shocks, springs, rebuilding the engine etc. My question is this truck has what appears to be evenly placed holes around the bed. They are in pairs and include the tailgate. My guess is they are for bed rails maybe extensions to keep in produce or whatever. Just haven't seen them on any other truck. I would like to replace with authentic looking wood rails if I knew what they looked like. Help please...
PS these were not drilled by some amateur they are perfect in spacing and diameter. ty g

How big are the holes? Round or rectangular? Canopy tops were somewhat popular with round tubing frames. A picture would help.

I'll drag some up. Seems like the holes are .375 or so...stay tuned. Don't know if I have a good pic. Truck is at the farm mabe 260 miles away. th g

OOPS me bad. I've changed computers and I'm having trouble finding my old pics. Regardless i'll take new ones when I go to the farm next week. I shouldn't have posted without the pics handy, g

How about rope hooks?
