looking for replacement hood hinge springs for 52-54 Ford/Merc car

anyone have a line on those springs or specs on the correct springs such as length and diameter of spring.

I replaced collapsed old hinges with after market hinges/springs and had issues from day one. back ends of hood near windshield need to be manually pushed down every time on closing hood. Suspect these springs are too long to do the job
