'51 Merc frame serial number

Barners,
Where are the stamps in the frame of a 51 Merc indicating the serial number?? We have the body off but find nothing in the areas where the Fords have stamps, so far. What a monster that frame is!!

The arrow marks the spot. They can be pretty shallow stampings but I've always managed to find them.

Thanks for the come back. I had one friend indicate that beginning in 1949, FORDS have no frame stamp, and that probably Merc was the same. But your seeing it is good input. I'll try to email back after we check.

My 52 Merc has the serial number stamped on the right frame front, top, just below the distributor. Matches the number on the firewall tag.

I don't believe that for a minute. My '55 Ford wagon frame is stamped with the VIN.
