A friend of mine just bought a 1951 Ford Custon 4 door sedan, All original. Have a few questions. What color was the engine? Does anyone know where we can find parking light bezels and lense?

I'm sure someone on here can help you with the engine color. It was either a red-orange or bronze color. You might try putting a want ad in the "Swap Section" for the light bezel and lens. Good luck!

The engine color was bronze. The parking lamp bezels and lenses should be available from Dennis Carpenter. I had a nice 51 custom fordor and recently sold it.

do yourself a favor and buy the 49-51 restorers guide......mac and dennis sell them it was a huge help with my 51 victoria.........and of course the fordbarn was too

49 thru 51 were bronze

According to the Early V8 Club restoration guide for '49-'51, all '49's were blue.

Some say that very late '49's had bronze engine color but nobody could verify that idea......Bob L

I had a late 49 six cylinder new and the engine was blue. The late 49s had a reenforcing rib in the rear bumper and other changes.
