51 f1 chatter

I am new to The Ford Barn, so I hope I don't repeat anything discussed earlier.
I have a 51 f1 with 239 flathead and standard shift on column(light duty trans)...
I get a very noticeable chatter when starting out in first gear and somewhat in reverse but is fine once you get rolling, no shifting problems.
I replaced clutch and throw-out bearing and had flywheel resurfaced, I still get the chatter.
I'm told to check motor mounts and trans cross member mounts, if ok cause has to do with way clutches made back then, as opposed to newer replacements, along with fact that rear is posi causes chatter and may/maynot work itself out but ok to drive.
Any truth to this, if not what are the other possibilities???

I am far from a ****** expert, but it sounds like you better check out the ******. First and reverse share a common sliding gear. Something is not right. Take the transmission cover off and inspect it. An F-1 won't have a vibration like that unless something is wrong.

I don't think it will help much, but I have the same problem and I have a T5 trans. It shudders in 1st and reverse when it is cold. After it warms up it quits. I had the flywheel machined, new (rebuilt) clutch plate and pressure plate, new throwout bearing and flywheel pilot bearing. I am about to blame it on the new clutch material they are using to replace the asbestos ones. All my linkage is new and straight. Let us know what you find.

Still trying to figure it out, going to put up on jack stands and check all the mounts first...Thanks for your input

Did you check the lengths of the 3 levers on the pressure plate? All 3 have to be identical length and they are adjustable.

If whomever rebuilt the clutch didn't do that, you'll get some chatter.
