50 Ford stearing column

The upper part of the column, Is there a bearing there or is it a bushing. If a bushing can it be replaced with a bearing? And who would have the bearing? And would a bearing be better than a bushing?

It's a bushing & the last one I bought was plastic, not bronze. There's a guy who makes a bearing kit for the column, but I don't have his name or info.

I've also heard that you can get a bearing from ACE hardware that wil fit. I've been meaning to mic my shaft to see what size is needed, but it'as still on my bucket list:)
