50 Ford Custom Seat

I would like to see a photo of a 50 Ford Custom front seat without any upholstery or padding on it. Mine is sunk down. I can stick my camera under the seat and take a pretty good picture. I can see that there are two springs loose. I would like to see what it is suppose to looked like before I take it out. I would to try and fix it myself. I ordered a set of hog ring pliers off eBay.
I think I could take enough out to pull the seat back and hopefully fix whatever it is. If anyone has a picture or tell me where I could go to see one I would appreciate it

Found a seat on eBay, some pictures from post. Some heavy bailing wire might work.

Thanks for the picture. I get an idea of what I am looking at. I think the S shaped springs on the bottom are loose letting the top ones sink. I just need to pull it out so I can really see what's going on.

I was in the same boat about five years ago. I was also going to rebuild my own seat but after looking at it I took the front and rear seats to an upholsterer and had them completely rebuilt. I realized you don't beat a man at his own game. Way beyond my abilities.
The burlap was shot, as was the foam. Basically, they took them completely down to the metal and rebuilt the entire seats.
I had them done in black vinyl with a cloth Burgundy insert to match the rest of the interior..

The zig zag springs are installed to the foundation wire with crimp clips. The springs and clips are available but a person needs the crimping tool to replace them. I've seen where some folks double the springs together in the places they get used the most. They can be wired together to stabilize things in some cases. It generally requires removal of the cover, padding, and burlap if that's the way it was built up. Hog rings, ring pliers, and some heavy duty wire cutters are needed for that.

Some seats may still have coil springs but Ford was getting away from that in the early 50s.
