WAS looking at a 37 ford farm truck today , looked like the heads said EAC and then down lower the word MERCURY was cast into the head in raised letters . the owner thought it was a 49-53 ford motor . I told him I thought it was probably a mercury 255 engine, but letters weren't real clear but I am almost positive they said EAC then MERCURY down lower. would this be a 49-53 mercury motor? never seen the mercury on the heads before. thanks

Yup they had Mercury on the heads but it could still be a Ford with Merc heads. Who knows after all those years

I picked up a pretty rusty '52 F2 that a fellow was going to have hauled off for scrap. It has EAC and Mercury on the heads and the whole engine is painted the Mercury light green. I haven't gotten around to tearing into it, but I understand it was fairly common to replace the Ford engine with a Mercury for more power in work trucks.
