'49/'50 Door Latch (Tudor Sedan)

Anyone know if a '50 door latch will work on a 49? And same for striker plate. I need one, but all I can find is a '50. Tnx, George M

49 door latches & striker plates are for 49 only. no other years will work. try ..

I've done both wanted on Fordbarn and Shoeboxford (and all the other suppliers) with no luck. A few '50s available but no '49s. Figured I'd "Kick a dead dog and see what happens". Thanks, George M

George49Ford, whats wrong with yours? I think I have a few repair kits for the '49 doors. Sold my '49 last year.

49 are difficult to find because they were no good to begin with. 50 is completely different. To use a 50 you would need to use 50 doors as they are different where they bolt to the door. You might have a problem bolting the 50 striker plate to the jamb also, I am not sure.
