Good morning, can you tell me the correct valve lash settings for this motor? My book has 2 listings, they are .010 .014 .017 .019 ?Also it does not say hot or cold setting, let me know ,thanks

Think the difference is between G and H type of 226 a 48 makes it the later type with adjustable lifters and the bigger clearances.

1949 and early 1950-
Intake: .009-.011
Exhaust: .013- .015

Late 1950 to 1951-
Intake: .013- .015
Exhaust: .017- .019

All settings are COLD

Late engines with the late camshaft (OHA-6252 ) will have the letters "OH" stamped on the right side of engine block directly above the number 3 intake port. Also, the letter "O" or "B" is stamped on the forward end of the camshaft.

Your 1948 should be set at:
Intake: .009-.011
Exhaust: .013- .015
I assume it is an "H" series with adjustable valve tappets.
