Guys what is the compressed and uncompressed length of the rear shocks on a 48 f1 truck? I want to order some but not 100% sure. Was going to order Monroe 32207 but want to make sure first. Thanks. Luke

I'd measure your static height pin-to-pin, then look for 2" down travel and 2" up travel. Unless you are hauling a ton of pig iron you aren't likely to compress the springs even that much. But the axle will drop a fair amount.

When I had my stock axle I bought Monroe's at Autozone, Red Ryders. They worked fine.

Mustang........just saw this post. I had a Monroe guy I knew some years ago figure all this out. He then told me what part number shocks to buy for my '49 F1. Everything was perfect. My Son bought the pickup from me. Do you want those Monroe part numbers ? If so give me your email address and I'll have him send to you.

Mike
