I'm changing my 8rt to 12volts and have seen a gadget to allow all the instrument panel gauges to work after the 12 v goes thru it. Darn it, I can't remember where I saw it. Does anyone know who sells it? Also "thanks, Ryan and Shelly"

Bill, you must be refering to 12 volt to 6 volt reducers. There are basically two types ,One is for motors and one is for gauges.Look up Speedway Motors on the net ,they show some .Also other vendors should have them .The one you need for gauges is called "the Runtz".When I changed to 12 volts I was able to get 12 volt reproductions of the orginal gauges .A little pricey but well worth it JMO.

fifthavenueinternetgarage dot com sells the runtz voltage reducers. They are small and bolt to the back of the gauge panel. You will need 3 of them. I used them on an F1 panel truck and worked very well.

It's been my experience that the Runtz resistors don't las very long. I have used the CVR that was used by Ford in the 60's on the Mustangs, etc. You can buy them from the Mustang suppliers or from Napa Auto Parts. The Napa part # is IR-1 or the Standard brand # is VRC-604. The small unit is mounted under the dash and you run one wire from the ignition to one terminal and the other terminal services all the gauges in series. I've never had a problem using these units.
