48 clutch adjustment

Hello

I'm thinking I need to make a clutch adjustment on my 48 coupe, it is grinding sometimes going into gears. I want to take out some free play, when I disconnect the adjusting clevis, do I need to lengthen the rod or make it shorter? Any info would be appreciated.

You need to lengthen rod to take to take out freeplay between throwout bearing and pressure plate although usually as clutch wears I believe the freeplay decreases and you have less travel at top of pedal.

You might want to check the split bushing on the frame side of the clutch cross shaft. Mine was bad and caused excessive free play.
