48’ Belt Line Trim on a 41’?

Re: 48’ Belt Line Trim on a 41’?

Maybe ask the experts at Drake what the length is, and compare to that on your '41.

FYI - maybe you already know this, but 41 used a ribbed trim while the 48 has no ribs.. Can't help on the lengths

From Drake-
“We list the trim for 1942-1948 not sure if this will work for your application we have never tried to install on a 1941 Thank you“

Yes, that’s what I’m going for.

Re: 48’ Belt Line Trim on a 41’?

all 41-48 bodies (firewall back) are the same. Meaning '41 -48 Fordors are the same, 41-48 long door, etc.. Mouldings are different year to year along with the position of fender mouldings. Mouldings around side, rear and windshields are identical 41-48. Mouldings on front fenders, for '41 are a one off year. You could install 42-48 door and rear quarter mouldings on a '41 but would have to use '41 front fender moulding which is narrower and different shape.

Re: 48’ Belt Line Trim on a 41’?

The 48 molding is wider and requires different clips . The hood molding may require a bit of bending . I will check today . The reason I think the hood molding is slightly different is because of the narrow hood of the 41

Perfect, this is very helpful. Fenders won’t matter in my case as the trim I’m speaking of runs down the hood opposed to the fenders. But sounds like the hood trim might need some modifications.

Thank you! Doesn’t sound like it’ll be too big of an issue.

I checked and while the 41 is narrower it looks to have similar contour. Mine are both tudors but doors and hood should be same length as a long door

For this trim, yes. But '41 club coupe has a different roof turret than postwar cars. You'll notice a sharp crease at the back of the '41 where the turret meets the decklid, where the postwar cars it flows in with no crease. Drip rails are also shaped different to match this contour.
