48-49 truck wiring diagram ?

hello, i have a question about re wiring my truck. the diagram says that the starter button gets connected to the magnetic starting switch.....what the hell is that?....(new at this). i would be thankful for any help with my wiring job.....i may have more questions later on.....thanks

That would be the starter solenoid that the battery cable and the cable to the starter attach to.
 
A good investment would be to get a copy of the 49-51 Ford truck shop manual. It has the wiring diagram in the back and lots of good info about the trucks. You can always find them on Ebay or a reproduction copy thru some of the sites that sell car manuals. It will give you a better idea as how the trucks are wired.
