'47 wheel cylinders

I installed new wheel cylinders on my '47 a couple years ago. What would happen if I installed them backwards or can they be installed backwards? I know that the bore is bigger on one end. I have decent brakes but I have never had a rock hard peddle. Thanks Don

I would suspect you would loose some braking power, albeit not much. Would probably be more noticeable if it were front wheel cylinders since the brakes are "front biased" by design. OMO
