47 merc tank mount

Anyone have a picture of the correct position for rear gas tank mounts?I'm trying to put them above the crossmember lip, with the cage nuts facing to the top.I got one side started, but can't start the other side, because the front seam of the tank is touching the crossmember above the rearend.Should they go below the crossmember lip, which would lower the back end of the tank about an inch and a half? Thanks.

We installed ours in our 47 Merc. convert.
I believe we put the front of the tank toward the front of
the car first then lowered the back onto the lips.
Both sides of the tank go above the lip.
We did not have to trim anything on our aftermarket tank,
but I have heard of some tanks needing a little tweaking.
I don't have a pic of the install sorry.

Good luck,

Thanks,Bob, This is the stock tank, that I took out a couple of years ago,but don't remember which way the mounting brackets go.I'll try shifting it around, and maybe I can get the bolts thru on the pass side.I have three bolts started on driver side, but pass side needs to go forward to start the bolts, and the front crossmember is touching the tank seam on the drivers side, keeping me from rotating the other side forward.
