46 pickup backing plates--brakes

Guestion and and answer. I want to get rid of the 40 Ford front backing plates and use the 46-48 plates without the adjustment on the bottom. I have a 46-47 pickup rear end. Will the pickup rear backing plates bolt my 40 Ford front spindels? I know they have a place for e-brake but I don't need that on front, lol. Thanks Walt

Yes, the bolt pattern is the same. You can weld up the holes for the e-brake cables and remove the extra hardware inside and will be all set.
