'46 Mercury/Ford rear bumper

My '46 Mercury had some extra bumper brackets, and a '46 Ford bumper. I know it's not correct but for the winter I would like to protect that nice rear sheetmetal just in case someone decides to back into it in the garage. Does anyone know if the bolt pattern of the bumpers is the same? The valence panel for the Merc appears to match the Ford bumper nicely. The brackets DO mount correctly to the frame but are not even close to the bumper unless I've got them switched around. They could be badly bent, however.

I bolted the brackets up and they are not even close. However, I would not be surprised if they are not for the car (there were lots of extras included that were other brands). Or the Ford and Merc used a different bolt pattern (anyone who ever watch Grand Marquis and Crown Vic roll down the same line would think not).

Anyone got a pic of the rear brackets laying around?

I answered my own question. The rear bumper and brackets from a '46 Ford bolted up exactly to the rear of my '46 Merc. The brackets I was trying to use previously must have been Front brackets.
