46 Ford speedo needle

Is there a reason my 46 Ford speedo has a painted needle? Most of the ones I've seen are chrome. Thanks for an answer.

If it's a real 1946 Ford it would have the following:
Deluxe series models: White on Black w/ Gold accents
Super deluxe (Closed car) or early Convertibles and Wagons: Red on Black
Super Deluxe Wagons, Convertibles and Sportsman: White on Black w/ Gold accents.

Guess I was off base there, the needles on my convertible are white as are the 1946 Sportsman that I have seen. The colors Ihat I previously provided are the background colors of the guages. Sorry for the incorrect information. LouB.
