"46 Ford Coupe!

[cinemarealtor]

I have a '46 Ford coupe and I need new Hood Springs. can someone tell me the lengh? Or post a picture?

[Gary in La.]

The P/N is 99A16789. The dimensions are Total length 5 13/32, Coil length 3 13/64, Coil diameter 1 1/8, Wire diameter 5/32. Suggest trying to obtain the correct Ford p/n springs as it does'nt take much of a variation to keep them from working properly. They will also wear out at some point and your hood will fail to stay up. This was one service replacement part that did the job as advertised.

Here's the spring at Mac's for $4.95: http://macsautoparts.com/early-v8-f...enger-91a-16789/camid/F30/cp/JS0R3CHL1074017/

For twice as much you can get it stainless steel: http://macsautoparts.com/early-v8-f...er-91a-16789-ss/camid/F30/cp/JS0R3CHL1113189/
