42 floorboard gasket or seal?

Pulled the front floorboard to access my serial number and spent some cold weather hours scraping and sanding down the floorboard in preperation for some painting. I'm going to shoot some bedliner spray on the bottom side prior to paint to get some extra protection down there.
Anyway, while cleaning up the underside, there were remnants of a hard rubber flat trip that seemed to run just inside the actual bent lip of the floorboard, presuming some sort of gasket or seal to reduce water getting in the vehicle. But I can't find any of the vednors selling rubber products that offer a front floorboard seal.
Was this a Bubba thing at some point in time? Or did Ford do this and I'm not searching the correct item?
I'll hang up and listen.

But, is there a parts manual that I should get to answer these type of questions? I have the service and shop manuals for this car, but no parts manual. Thanks in advance.

Dennis Carpenter P/N 11A-7011508 or Bob Drake P/N 11A-7011508/9 for the floorboard seals(car). I used the Carpenter seals on both my 46 and 42 Fords, but I'd be curious if the Drake seals fit better. On the parts manuals I'd buy the "green bible" 1928-48 car (28-47 truck) manual and a 1942 Ford body parts manual. There is also a 1938-44 parts manual that is helpful. By the time the green bible was issued in November of 1950 some of the P/Ns changed. The books help but some of it is trial and error to be honest. Is yours a 42 car or truck?

There is a seal for the floorboard. C and G parts shows one in their catalog and it fits 41-48. Their # is 800-266-0470. I'm sure other vendors also carry this part.

Yes, it's a 1942 Mercury Town Sedan 4 dr Serial number: . 99A 598 192 *

Thanks for the leads in tracking down the seal.

Found the seal and trying to ID the two round poker chip size bump pads or spacers or whatever they are called on the bottom side of the floor board. Trying to gett all the rubber I need for this floor board from the same vendor to save on s/h.
Are these replacement items? Mine are so hard, they feel like wood, but presume they were rubber at one time.

The suppliers of the seal will likely have the rubber bumpers or they may come with the seal kit.

Those bumpers are your brake and clutch pedal stops. If you look, you will see that their attachment lines up with the brake and clutch pedals.

The number for the clutch pedal and brake pedal seals is 91A-2476 and should be installed before the floorboard goes back in. I think the pieces signsup is asking about may come with the floorboard seal kit.

I was wrong. Photo of what I think you are looking for is attached.
P/N 11A-5015. Third Gen Auto in TN. shows them in stock.

Yes, I believe these are the critters. I only pulled two off the floorboard, but not to say others didn't fall off over the years. It does not say how many are required, the image shows four, but may be two front and backs. They have two in stock...should I grab both of them? Or do I need four? I'm not feeling any additional holes for them to install.
Here's my original ones. Little hocky pucks.

Each kit has four in them. You'll need all four (two on each side). The little end pulls thru the floorboard and the larger flat part between the floorboard and frame rails. There should be four holes. At least there were on my 46 when I did them this summer.

I have a feeling when I go out and look in the morning, two of these will be stuck to a frame rail and didn't come off with the floorboard. I'll get the package of four and the seal and put it back right.
Thanks for the guideance.
