42-48 pancake distributor question

I have a 2 bolt pancake ford distributor with a cast iron body. All the distributors I've seen have cast aluminum bodies. What year was the cast iron unit used?? Thanks rdtd115@msn.com

Canadian models in New Zealand from 1942 to 46 all had cast iron bases so alloy bases are rarer here. Brian F

Yea Walt they are and much heavier.Usually painted black not engine green?paint them with alumi-blast and they look just like the alum. ones.I ve had a few of them. ken ct.
