'42-'48 horn button schematic needed

I have a '42-'48 nos wheel and horn ring that I'm putting on a Limeworks column. The pictures show the column and the parts I have but I think I need a contact plate that mounts on top of the column before I install the spring and wheel, is that right(?) Any other parts?
I also need to know where to connect the horn wire on the horn button.
I haven't been able to find a schematic or any type of drawing showing how this all goes together.
1st pic is of the column
2nd is the wheel/horn button underside I have
3rd is the spring & wire

Thanks,
Terry

looks like you have everything you need. put the wire onto the screw in the horn ring, slide it down the center of the spring and then down the hole in the steering wheel column till it comes out the end. put the spring on the horn ring and take the horn ring and twist it onto the steering wheel (looks like you got it off ok it just goes on in reverse. after that is doen and installed you can hook up the wire coming out of the steering column bottom to the horn and relay system, NOW by your post you may not have a steering column with a hole down the center. All the horn ring does is allow contact to ground and the wire. hope this helps some

The diagram that Mike linked to is the same scheme as my 47 truck. It uses a switch at the top end of the horn wire. Attached is a picture showing what mine looks like with the horn button removed.

The Bob Drake listing for the switch is: http://store.bobdrake.com/19passtddlx1.html

When you press the horn button, the switch connects the wire to ground. The other end of the wire goes to one terminal of the horn. The other horn terminal connects to the battery.

Thanks Frederic, seems pretty straight forward. I'll try it this week and let you know how it worked out.

Mike and Tom thank you also but I think the trucks were different than the sedans, we'll see. Good shot of the switch Tom.
