I did a search , Are these backing plate 42-48 , is the brake adjustment the Sam as 39-41 , and the master cylinder That looks triangle , the fill cap , is there a gasket ? If so what does it look like, I tried to use a o-ring , then the treads would not catch / start ,
Thanks

The backing plates pictured are 39-41 style. Flat paper gasket on the cap of the original style MC, about 0.025" thick, using the cap with the square drive.

This is a '42-'48 plate. Notice that there are NO adjustment provisions (big hex nut) at BOTTOM of each shoe. DD

Thank's , In the photo , at the top , where the cam is , there a spring between the hex nut & backing plate , in the drawling , I do not see these spring for 39-41 ,image.jpg

Ok ! I see the different in the backing plates , to be clear to ajust , Big shoe nut ((anchor )) turn's clock wise's from the back side & small shoe turns counter clock wise ?

The photo in post #1 is sideways. Makes the almost a question in post #5 a bit confused. They are still '39 to '42 . We keep forgetting that "42s used the pre-war backing plates. Good Luck: Fred A
