42-47 pickup cab swap with 40-41 cabs?

Hey Fellas,
I thought I read that the 40-41's had the same cab as the later 42-47's but I can't find it by searching threads. Anyone know if this is the case that they shared a common cab? I vaguely remember someone saying the hood mount may have to be altered but otherwise the same. Tks.

I don't know how to post a thread , but search;
Will a 42-47 pickup cab fit on a 40-41 frame?
There is a good explanation of differences and how to.

1940 to1947 pick up and larger basically share the same cab
some difference
40/41 you sit on gas tank for seat support in 3/4 ton up on 1/2 ton gas tank is under bed at rear of frame
42/47 have a metal surround which the seat sits on--also the back cushion mounts a little differently
40/41 front fenders bolt to the cab itself, 42 to 47 bolt to a bracket attached to cab there are more differences but this should get you started.
all the cabs use wood mount blocks to frame, big trucks and 42 to 47 have different frames

An interference you will first encounter putting a 42-47 cab and also the 1940 cab from a big truck that has a gas tank under the seat on to a 35-40 frame is the recessed floor under the seat hits the wood blocks. Easiest way is to coop the wood to fit. The 40-41 pickup cab had a flat floor under the seat. There is a couple other minor things to do. Its not that big of a deal but its also not just drop the cab on and go

Thanks for the info fellas. I am looking for a better cab for my '46 1-ton. If I can expand my search to include the 40-41's it gives me a better chance of finding something!
