'41 Pickup

Last weekend I became the happy owner of a '41 pickup. It's all original (except for a 21 stud engine??) but has been pretty much totally dismantled. The previous owner has also stripped most of the paint off. It's an original rhd & believed to have originated in New Zealand. The plan is to leave it virtually stock. I say virtually because I have a seized 8BA which, if it comes apart & is rebuildable, could well end up in it. I see that the Early Ford Club has both a 1940 book & a 1941 - 1948 book. I'm guessing they only deal with passenger cars, not commercials. I have a copy of their 1936 book which was a real help when I was building my coupe. What do you think?? Is it worth buying either book ( would the 1940 one be more helpful?).

41 pick-ups are the same as 40, except for some additions of trim on the hood, a different Ford logo on the dash and gauge face's-- so the 40 book would be of more use than the 41-48

The 41-48 book would not be appropriate for your pickup. The 40 book is a little weak on information and is currently being re-written. If you need good info on the chassis/running gear I would look at the V-8 Club's 38-39 book. Lots of good info that carried over into 1940.
