41 Pickup

Hi, new to this forum. Thanks in advance for all I will learn from y'all. My dad rebuilt a 41 Ford Pickup 30 years ago. He is now 93 and unable to drive or remember many details of the restomod. It was a frame off job. He put a Chevy 350 engine, turbo 350 ******, etc. He kept the exterior looking fairly original but under the hood and inside the cab are quite a change.

Couple questions for the forum gurus:
Dad had peep mirrors mounted to the door. I hate them. Want to add hinge mounted mirrors. I like the curved mirrors I've seen on other 41 Ford Pickups but cannot find them online. I found straight stem options but not the curved version. Any thoughts pro or con on this type of mirror? Where can I get a set?

I also want to put a proper cab mounted rear view mirror. The two tubular trim pieces are above the windshield with a hole but nothing behind the hole to receive a mounting screw. What is supposed to be inside the tube to receive the screws?

Thanks and looking forward to learning a lot and making contributions when able.

I would add some photos but I don't use a photo storing/sharing service which seems to be the only way I can post photos.

I save photos to my desk top. Then go to Additional Options, Attach files and then click on Manage Attachments. No need for photo storing/sharing services. I took the liberty of copying the photos you posted on another forum and posting them here. Hope that's OK.
And Welcome to the Barn.

Thank you sir! Much appreciated. I'll give it a try.

For you pickup guys, what are your favorite sources for parts (original and mod)?

Not that I don't like looking at car stuff, but is there an early V8 pickup forum or sub forum?

Joe's Antique Auto is my go to for parts for my '39 p/u.

Joe's Antique Auto Parts (joesantiqueauto.com)
Other choices:
C&G in Escondido, CA

C&G Ford Parts Home Page (cgfordparts.com)
The Early Ford Store in San Dimas, CA
Early_Ford_Store - San Dimas, California - 1928-1959 Early Ford Parts – Early Ford Store . San Dimas, CA
Third Gen Automotive McMinnville, TN
Early Ford Parts | Third Gen Automotive – Premium supplier of 1940's and 1930's Ford parts. Buy Ford parts safely and easily from our online store.

There are other suppliers as well. I'm sure others have there favorites and will post them. And IMO Mac's should be avoided if possible. But don't confuse them with Mac Van Pelt of Van Pelt Sales - an excellent source of all things flathead. VANPELT SALES LLC - your ford flathead source since 2006

Edit:
This is a truck related forum that might be of interest

FYI: The curved mirror stems are "car" parts. The pickups used a straight stem. The car mirrors will work (that's what I run). They mount using the door hinge pin but the pins could be a issue getting them out without messing up that nice red paint.

I sent you a PM.

thanks gents. I'll keep y'all posted on what I find. Hope your pickups are bringing you joy on the Forth. Take em out and help keep America beautiful...with an old pickup.

The car mirror WILL NOT fit on a truck hinge, different size. Interior mirrors and bracket from a car will fit but because of the small rear window and limited adjustment options you may only see the inside of the tailgate. I used a 1951 car mirror by drilling a hole a few inches lower in the windshield center strip.
