'41 Front Park Lens - Removal

Is there a trick to getting the lens out without breaking it. I can't seem to wiggle the lens loose. I don't remember how its held in place These are original lenses so any suggestions would be helpful.

I believe you need to remove the entire park light assembly from the fender as the screw that retains the cage that holds the glass is on the bottom.

Are you trying to remove the lens, or just replace the globe? I have not removed the lens, but have done the globes on mine recently.

Once you remove the screw on top of the stainless housing it will come away if you slide/wiggle it to the rear.

By turning and pushing forward on the globe holder at the same time it shouldcome out of the light assembly.

Good luck!

I did end up taking the assembly off and removing the screw underneath. The lens slid forward with some effort. The gaskets are all brittle, but it all seams to be very well made. I'm sure its the original part (same on both sides). I think I'll replace the bad bulb with LED (on both sides). Clean it up - new gaskets - and back in service.

Thanks for the information.

The previous owner of my ‘41 converted the parking light to a duel terminal bulb for the turn signal kit. Does yours have turn signals?.

Check that the LED globe will fit into the assembly. Some LED's are larger than incandescent and may not fit.
