41-47 truck speedo

I just bought A 41-47 Ford truck speedo / gauge cluster. It is a 60 mph speedo with a segment that says 2nd gear. But, the needle is just a short one. I thought it was'broken off', but it is painted white and nicely rounded on the end...looks original. Do any of you fellows know about this?? Thanks

The needle should be 1 1/2 inches on the pointer end and 1/4 inch on the trailing end. Rumor has it that these 60 mph speedos were for the 4 cylinder cars.

The speedo in question is a "Shiftoguide" used in Ford Trucks. I believe they were used in vehicles with 4 speed transmissions, hence the 60 MPH speed. I may be mistaken but if you are working on a 1/2 Ton with 3 speed X-mission you probably need a speedo that goes to 100 MPH. The needle should be like the ones in the attached pictures. Hello Dennis, thanks for your reply and pics. This speedo face is similiar, but not the same as your pics...it has the same 'segments' as yours, but only says 2nd gear. Also there is no red markings on it. It is a SW speedo. All very interesting, I will get some pics.
