40 vs 47 Antenna lead cables

I bought a complete roof mount repo antenna from Dennis Carpenter at one time for my 47 Ford Coupe with the cable etc. It worked fine until I backed it into a friends garage and broke it off.

The 47 Coupe antenna does not have a cable it is stainless rod from antenna down windshield center to radio .

Thats really interesting. My 47 tudor definitely has a cable running from the bottom of the antenna over to the radio. I have three 47 radios and they all take an antenna cable in a port near the dash. It would take quite a bend for a solid rod to get from the top of the dash to the port for the radio. Mine cable has been tweeked, soldered, and is suspect for my radio not working. I would get rid of the rooftop mount if it didn't involve matching old paint and a big bother but it may come to that.

Sorry about that. You are right. My memory is not as good as it should be. All I remembered was the rod coming down. Dennis carpenter still has the complete kit for $99.95 Part no. 21A-18813 I do not remember any difference from the original:)
