My ‘40 convertible’s trunk lid has three bolts that stick out from the latch handle into the trunk area. These bolts can severely scratch luggage. The location of the spare tire reduces the amount of floor space, making the chances of luggage damage greater. Has someone already solved this problem? Thanks, Sid

If you are that worried about your luggage, put it in the back seat area. Also, if this is not a concourse car, new radial tires would allow you to leave the spare in your garage since everyone has a cell phone. I went on a 3 week trip to Costa Rica with only a carry on. Maybe you can re think your packing needs. You must never take your luggage on an airplane.
